Fully Coated - Thrift Share

I've been on a coat kick recently and Thrifted all of these beauties for under $10 each.
This Leslie Fay Metallic Brocade 50s Jacket is so cool!
Straight outta Mad Men.

This is the 1st Faux Fur I've purchased & it needs to head straight to the cleaners...
It was Made in England by Rosewin & I think it's so cool.

Wish I would've had it for my ski trip in Colorado last week, shucks!

I also really like this Nappy Wool blend long coat.

I need to photo it with a better belt, cause the pics don't really do it justice.
The buttons are so sweet in big abalone shell texture & it's got 3/4 length sleeves.

I'm linking up to Apron Thrift Girls Thrift Share Monday again this week, so be sure to check out all the other amazing Thrift Share finds!

Most of these beautiful coats will probably end up in my shop soon, so be sure to stop by

Thrift Share - Things I Love

Were away on vacation hitting the slopes of Colorado, so I don't have any new finds to share this week.
But, in honor of Valentines Day, I decided to share a few of the thrifted finds that I love!

This pottery Kokeshi Doll makes me smile.  I found her at a yard sale a few months ago.
She's a solid, heavy piece of pottery and stands about 10" tall.

Although I'm not too into labels, I just adore this Christian Dior envelope clutch that I thrifted a few months ago.  I find myself carrying it quite often and it was a true score at only $1.00!

I also came across these beautiful 1930's Art Deco Trojan Horse bookends by Dodge (who makes the Oscar statues) while thrifting for only $8.
They are just gorgeous & hold a collection of my art books perfectly!

As you may have learned from my previous posts, my favorite thrifted finds are always paintings & art.

This may be one of the first paintings I ever purchased.  I picked it up years ago and have been carrying it around for as long as I can remember.  The problem is that it's huge, & I've never had the right place to hang it.  But after moving into our current home, I found the perfect place for it right above our bed.

Although I've never found any info about the artist Dormz Weimer (or Weiner)  I just love the painting & thought she would add a good close to my Valentines Day post.

I look forward to being back with some new items this week & wish you all lots of joy & love on Valentines!

Be sure to check out all of the other wonderful finds on ATG's Thrift Share Monday!

Unaka Pottery Lamp

I'm a little late to ATG's Thrift Share Monday party this week, but you know what they say
"Better Late than Never" right?

I picked up this amazing pottery lamp with a pretty wacky shade this week at a thrift shop.  It was marked a little pricy, but when the volunteer plugged it in to test it and got a pretty good shock, they gave me a pretty big price chop. I felt bad for the volunteer, but yay for the discount!

OK, so maybe it doesn't look so amazing with the crazy beaded 1/2 shade that's obviously missing some sort of dome to cover the bulb, and it has to be rewired...but the actual pottery part is amazing & I have to wonder if the beadwork is original.  The string it's on looks pretty dated, but could it actually be from the 1920s or 1930s?

Also, if there are any of you pottery buffs out there who know about Unaka Pottery I'd love a little lesson.  So far I've found a few bits and pieces of info online.  Supposedly Unaka was also known as Clouse and a listing on ebay shows this paper note that was stuffed in a vase that outlines a little more about Unaka.

Behind the Scenes

Staying organized as a reseller is a job in itself.

A few weeks ago Amanda at Tall Glass of Water blogged about her "Dirty Little Secret" and asked the question of how to best stay organized with inventory as a reseller.
Unfortunately I can't say I'm a role model as I have stuff stored throughout the house & garage
(Tim tells me I've invaded every space of our place),
but I have to say I've impressed myself as I've found a place for most of my things.

Stella feels inspired for a nap!
My Art Room is overflowing.  I don't take as much time to create in here as I should, but the closet in this room is perfect for storing my supplies & some of my inventory.
My art obsession lines the walls.
This is where it starts to get messy.
I did save myself a little space to create.

The garage is where you'll find most of the breakables.  We have a fun little workshop filled with drawers & cabinets just perfect for holding all sorts of little treasures.  Almost everything out here is for the shop.
Did I mention that the cabinets don't really close?

Oversized frames & mirrors.
What would you expect to find in the library??? Well books of course!  I thought I may have a hard time filling the shelves in here, but nah!  Heres a little peek from when out Xmas decorations were still up.

Vintage clothes are housed in the guest closet & all of my inventory is logged into a little Composition Book as it comes in.  I give myself enough room to write a small description, measurements, and price paid for each item...it's getting it onto a computer spreadsheet that proves to be the bigger challenge.

Basically I guess it's just slightly organized chaos...but it's fun & I enjoy every minute of it!
Hope you enjoyed the Behind the Scenes peek of NowSoLA Vintage!
Cheers ~ Lara
