Meet Lucy ~ she's the newest addition to our family & I guess you can say we acquired her in a Thrifty way...from the local shelter of course. Lucy was ready for a 2nd lease on life, as she was abused in her previous household & had been under quarantine at the pound without any affection for the last 2 months. She's a 3 year old Golden Retreiver, and she's found a new, safe, & loving forever home!
I found her on a whim when I stopped into the pound this week. We've been discussing adding a 2nd dog to our family for a few years now & had finally decided the timing was right.
Were so happy to have found her. She's an amazing dog. So gentle & sweet and she & Stella have made an instant Sisterly bond.
As you can probably guess, my time this week has been a little more limited making sure Lucy is adjusting, so I didn't get around to photoing this weeks Thrift Store finds yet. Instead I'm sharing a few of the adjustable Goose Neck style lamps I've found recently at some local Thrift Shops. I've grown quite fond of these little utilitarian style lamps, and it all started when I found this green goddess...
Industrial Style lamp from 60s or 70s |
Then came this Mid-Century style Veneer Desk Lamp |
Followed by this cute littler Silver & Black model. Once again, I'm linking up to Apron Thrift Girl's Thrift Share Monday along with Her Library Adventures Flea Market Finds, so be sure to check out all the other found treasures there! |
Oh I'm so envious... I long for the day that we can add a little furry friend to our home. Lucy looks wonderful. I did happen to have a half day adventure with a furry friend which I'll briefly mention in next week's post.
ReplyDeleteI just love your lamp collection! The first one reminds me of the Pixar lamp, I just LOVE it!
She is beautiful, I think it's a wonderful thing if you can save a dog from a shelter. My boys would be so envious. x
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty!! She has got the sweetest face. Best thrifty, life reaffirming action EVER!!!! Congrats!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful dog. Stella and her look like they've been together forever. Love the lamps, especially the veneer one.
ReplyDeleteI love that you included this as a thrift share post. Also, I love the way you leashed them. I do it that way with my two dogs and it's so much easier than letting them roam about in two opposing direction.
ReplyDeleteOh, how nice that your dog got a friend. Yay! Nice lamps, too!
ReplyDeleteAhhh she is so sweet. She has a definate twinkle in her eye. What a lovely find. Love the lamps too.
ReplyDeleteCOOL LAMPS!!!

Welcome Miss Lucy..."secondhand" pets are the best (all of our's have come from shelters, too)!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new family member.
ReplyDeleteYou can not put a price tag on love and affection and appreciation and doggie smiles.
You got the best bargain.
Isn't it great how the desk lamps are as much art as function?
